Motec-Sri Lankan Dinner Dance. A Palpable Expression Of Human Affection

August the 11th, 2007 will go down as one of the most memorable days in the diary of Motec. Over one hundred and twenty people from across the British Isles, joined by visitors from Canada heeded the call for support for Motec Life UK by Raymond and Muriel’s family. The arrangement was a result of Mr Raymond’s soul touching working visit to Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital, one of the target hospitals of Motec in June 2007.

The Church Hall on Homewood Road in St Albans City was the venue of the August meeting. Participants were treated with excellent Sri Lankan delicacies. The live music was Sri Lankan, English and Ghanaian. The star of the night was Mr Raymond doing ‘star in their eyes’ ALHAJI Ghanaian rhythmic high life tremor music. After a sumptuous dinner, participants expressed themselves exogenously on the dance floor amidst the flora of good fellowship and goodwill.

The other highlight of the function was a speech by the President of Motec (The Courage Of The few). A total of about £1947 was realised in support of equipment, freight and personnel training in Ghana. More payments are expected from individuals who have promise to help. Receiving the money from the Raymond family on 14th August, Mr Ofori-Atta, President of Motec thanked the Raymond's for their hard work and dedication to a good cause. He also expressed his gratitude to all and sundry for the fantastic support for Motec. He hoped that the event would become an annual affair. Bravo!
